Lee 'Scratch' Perry

Lee 'Scratch' Perry, The First Lord of Reggae, The Upsetter, Pipecock Jaxxon, call him what you will.  What the man definitely is, is a pioneer of reggae and dub whose contribution to music has been compared in importance to the likes of George Martin, Phil Spector and Brian Wilson.

From the late fifties the Grammy award winning artist has consistently broken moulds, laughed in the face of conformity and insisted on a constant progression in his sound, it is impossible to imagine the world of dub and reggae without his input and he remains a highly influential figure to this day.

In his own words the man says "I’m an artist, a musician, a magician, a writer, a singer; I’m everything. My name is Lee from the African jungle, originally from West Africa. I’m a man from somewhere else, but my origin is from Africa, straight to Jamaica through reincarnation; reborn in Jamaica...", we would encourage you to embrace this opportunity to experience the genius of a true roots legend.
