DJ Hype
A true Drum and Bass legend, Hype began his climb to fame and fortune through the London pirate radio scene in the late 80’s as a hip hop DJ of some note before being swept up into the emerging acid house movement.
With a love of all things breaks related and an ear for the techno and hardcore being produced in the UK at the time it seemed to be a natural progression to fuse the two and as Hype began to produce his own tracks a new sound started to evolve.
In the early nineties DJ Hype was at the forefront of the cutting edge Junglist movement and has stayed there ever since. Teaming up with Pascal and DJ Zinc in 1996 to form True Playaz they have gone on to produce some of the finest drum and bass tunes over the last decade, displaying a versatility and creativity unmatched by anyone.
As a DJ he remains pivotal to the genre, constantly evolving and expanding the boundaries of what is possible and acceptable in drum and bass and his big room style is bound to fit perfectly with the Bestival party vibe.
